What is Setting Out?

During the early stages of a construction, setting out defines an accurate positioning of the proposed development. Dimensions from the layout plan are transferred to the ground and are represented by ropes and pegs. Setting out ensures construction is carried out exactly according to plan.

A vital part of the construction process, setting out is required near the beginning of a new build or renovation. Setting out establishes the accurate positioning and level of the proposed development to comply with the local planning authorities.
